Jim Delaney, a native of Oneonta and Rochester, NY, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science/International Relations in 1966; after commissioning, he served at the Special Warfare Center/Ft. Bragg as Intelligence Officer for the 92nd Battalion, 2nd Psychological Operations Group; an Infantry Captain, he served in Vietnam and again served at the Special Warfare Center as Chief, Requirements Branch, US Army Institute for Military Assistance. While in military service, he earned the combat infantry badge and two bronze stars for meritorious service and heroism. As a civilian, he served variously as Program Assistant, Field Coordinator or Country Program Director for Catholic Relief Services-USCCB conducting humanitarian, disaster relief and micro-development programs in Asia and Africa. Until his retirement in 2003, he served as Associate Director for Refugee & Immigration Services for the Diocese of Rochester, NY and was a program consultant and trainer in the areas of refugee resettlement and volunteer management until 2006. He is currently a small businessman. Once a member of the Greece and Monroe County Republican Committees, he is now a member of the Conservative Party, the Rochester Tea Party, American Legion, the 912 Group, MOAA, Vietnam Veterans of America, Tenth Amendment Center, NRA, TNM, WTP-NY and GOA. He writes on his own Opinerlog.blogspot.com and other conservative sites, and is currently working on another book.
