Just in Time for Lent!
"The Way of the Cross
with St. John Paul II"

A Presentation by author Fr. Herbert Niba
Friday, February 28th
In the Chapel following 12 pm Mass

(Please note that the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed until after the presentation.)
"What does it mean to have a part in the Cross of Christ? It means to experience, in the Holy Spirit, the love hidden within the Cross of Christ. It means to recognize, in the light of this love, our own cross.” — Pope Saint John Paul II

The Way of the Cross with Saint John Paul II provides a simple but profound opportunity to practice this devotion publicly or privately. Each of the fourteen stations is interpreted in light of one aspect or event in the life of John Paul II, from tragic losses to physical and emotional demands, his long illness, and the assassination attempt. His lived experience of the Cross is further confirmed by the words of fourteen witnesses who knew him or who were influenced by him. Walk the Way of the Cross with Saint John Paul and, like him, come to know the love of Christ that allows us “to take up that cross once more and, strengthened by this love, to continue our journey.

Fr. Niba will be signing copies of his book which was published by Our Sunday Visitor. Copies are available in the Bookstore at the current price of just $6.95 ea. Pick some up for your whole family or prayer group!

Fr. Herbert Niba is a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Buea, Cameroon. He holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Central Africa, Yaounde (2010), and a Bachelor of Divinity from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome (2014). He has served as Director of John Paul II Institute of Theology, Buea (2014-2016) and lecturer of Philosophy at St John Paul II Major Seminary, Mamfe, Cameroon. He is currently residing at Resurrection Parish, Burtonsville.

Holy Hour of Reparation
Friday, March 14th, following 12 pm Mass
Come join us on the second Friday of each month in reciting aloud these vocal prayers in reparation for sins committed against the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked his disciples, "Could you not watch one hour with me?" Perhaps the comfort that the angel came to give Our Lord was the message of so many souls down through time who would come to be with him and make reparation. Booklets provided

Join us after Mass for a bit of Irish story telling from a lovely lass who we connected with at last year's Maryland Catholic Women's Conference where she was exhibiting. Colleen Marie writes inspirational fiction sprinkled with humor, Irish luck, southern charm, and clean, heartwarming romance. She strives to share Jesus’ love through her words and hopes her stories will inspire readers to discover their unique beauty and intrinsic value.

Colleen Marie is a graduate of Mount de Sales Academy (’99) and past teacher (9 years) and was recently featured in the Cupola magazine. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing and is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), the Catholic Writer’s Guild (CWG), and the Faith, Hope, & Love Christian Writers (FHLCW).

Teagan’s Treasure, the first book of Colleen Marie's Emerald Isle University Series, is filled with adventure, mystery, love, and faith. It is appropriate for young adult and adult audiences and has been reviewed and recommended by familiar names such as OLC regular and guest speaker, Kelly Guest, Author of Saintly Moms: 25 Stories of Holiness, as well as Fr. Santos George, pastor of St. Mark, Catonsville and former regular OLC celebrant.

Colleen Marie loves Our Lady’s Center and has attended numerous Masses and events. We have been carrying her book on our shelves and are looking forward to having her speak. After her talk, she will be signing copies of her book.

Come See Our Beautiful New Chapel Door!
Our long-awaited chapel door has finally arrived and been installed. This was one of the more challenging elements in the whole restoration process. Finding a supplier who could produce a beautiful wood and steel door with windows which could satisfy fire code was daunting. We are thrilled to announce that it was well worth the wait. It is now very clear that one is entering a sacred space. Many thanks again to all who have been helping us with covering the costs of the renovation. You are such a blessing to us, and you are always in our prayers.
