What are Zeppole?
French pate choux pastry filled with Bavarian Cream, topped with buttercream, drizzled with chocolate, and garnished with a maraschino cherry.
Why Zeppole?
The tradition began in Sicily in the Middle Ages when a drought plagued the land. The people prayed to St. Joseph for rain and promised a feast following his intercession. When the rain came, the people celebrated and kept their promise. The Zeppole was born, originally as a fried fritter, and sold on street carts and in bakeries to honor
St. Joseph.
Zeppole will be available in store and online through March 26!
