Hi there!
I have one more image to share with you from my trip to Newfoundland. This is a picture of the Humber River and just shows how the vegetation is so lush and green. Here at home we finally received a good rain and though it is probably too late to help the crops it will definitely turn our grass green again. The nights are becoming quite cool and the air certainly has that feeling of fall but I am hoping for some more great summer weather before the fall season really hits. So as we are thinking of fall, that means Halloween will soon be here.

  Bats and Boo Quilt Along
I am really late bringing this to your attention but the Fat Quarter Shop started this Quilt Along the first Monday in August. It was announced as a mystery but because I am kind of late in starting it is no longer a mystery. It is a free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. I am not usually quick to do a Halloween project this one is so cute and small enough that we can quickly do it up so you can have it on hand for Halloween. It finishes at 40 1/2” x 40 1/2”, a great size to hang on the wall of sit on your table.

Each Monday they would post a different part of the quilt on their website. You can download the pattern for free and there is also a video of each block that you could follow along to get some tips and tricks.
I am hoping you will join me to do this project. I am going to do it weekly like they did but just 3 weeks late. So this week we will be doing the bat block.
Here is the link to go and find all of the patterns.

When you follow the link you will be able to download the fabric requirements. Here is a copy of their supply list and the fabrics I choose.
Their supply list includes Triangle Paper and Flying Geese Foundation Paper but I won’t be using either of these.

These are the fabrics I choose to make my Bats and Boo project. If you can’t find the fabrics you love in your stash I will be happy to provide you with a kit in these fabrics. The cost for the kit which would include all your fabric for the top of the quilt and the binding (not the batting or backing) would be $76.00.
Now that you have gathered together all your fabrics we can go ahead and make the Bat Block, there are 4 of them and they finish at 10 1/2” x 10 1/2”. Here is the link for this block.

And here is my bat blocks made in my colors. Isn’t that just the cutest bat you ever met!

So I am hoping you will join me in making  this fun project. Share with us as you go along so we can see all of those adorable bats. Next week we will carry on and make the Pumpkin Block.
Fabric of the Week
This is a new feature I will be adding to the emails. Each Tuesday I will choose a line of fabric to be featured for the week, these fabrics will be discounted by 20% for the week only. At the end of the week they will go back to regular price and the next week we will feature a different line. If any of these fabrics look like something you would like to work with, you will want to pick them up this week!

All of these featured fabrics are from the line Sunshine Soul for Moda and they are regularly priced at $21.98 per meter but this week you can pick up the ones of your choice for only $17.58 per meter. They truly are beautiful pieces.
