The 2021 Defend Life Speaker Series Presents:
Sr. Dede Byrne: Serving God & Country
Friday, May 7th at 10:00 am* - RSVP required.
Talk begins promptly at 10 am. Doors open at 9 am for shopping and seating.
Dede Byrne - a religious sister, soldier, and surgeon - is a rock star in the pro-life movement. Who will ever forget her most memorable words at the 2020 Republican National Convention when she said, "I’m not just PRO-LIFE, I’m PRO-ETERNAL LIFE!" We especially loved when she pulled out her rosary, her "weapon of choice." Sister Dede is the older sister of Father Bill Byrne, Chaplain of the Catholic Student Center at the University of Maryland of College Park.
Space is limited. Overflow in conference room with livestream.
The talk will be followed directly by Noon Mass. After Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed and confessions will begin. The rosary, usually prayed at 11:30 am, will be prayed at the beginning of Exposition.
*For those who cannot attend, Defend Life talks are usually recorded and posted at their website, www.defendlife.org.

Special Saturday Event!
Visit of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Saturday, May 15th, 10:30 am Mass
Followed by exposition and devotions. The image will be on display until 1:30 pm.
Bookstore will open at 9:30-10:30 am and then 11:15 until 2 pm.
The Saturday after Ascension Thursday was traditionally the day commemorating Mary, Queen of the Apostles. We are excited to welcome a Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on this day! This is one of only four officially commissioned, meticulously exact, life-sized digital image in the whole world which were made from the original for the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City as part of the New Evangelization. They were to journey out to bring forth, as St. JPII prayed, conversions, a culture of life, and a civilization of love. There have been thousands of Masses, Confessions, hours of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Rosaries in the presence of the Images. Many conversions, healings, reconciliations and graces are reported. Abortions have been prevented and over twenty abortion centers have been closed through Our Lady’s intercession after Missionary Image Visitations. Learn more HERE.
Come pray for Conversions, Healing and an End to the Scourge of Abortion.

"Thank you for calling Our Lady's Center Marian Shrine..."
The face behind that pleasant voice you hear when you call us, the one which lists the prompts for you to choose from, is none other than David Kissane, the son of our President, Jack and his wife Grace. We are grateful for his help in keeping the message machine up to date with current weather related announcements, as well as offering helpful information on directions and hours of operation for those who need to know. This service goes a long way in helping our small staff assist as many patrons as possible no matter how busy we become. Thank you, David!

Easter Bunny Sighting
This little furry friend is just one of the many creatures which inhabit the wilds around our oasis of peace. You will also see deer, foxes, Mallard ducks, groundhogs, even an occasional heron, enjoying the stream and idyllic peace here. Yes, even with a major stream restoration project underway by the county, our nature buddies have apparently elected to stay put.
