RUSSELLVILLE – Join us at C&D Drug Store, Friday, Sept. 7 from 3-5 p.m. in Russellville as we celebrate 60 years of serving the city and the Arkansas River Valley.
The C&D Drug Store building was constructed in 1877 and is the oldest building in the state of Arkansas to consistently house a pharmacy. It has been C&D Drug Store since pharmacists Charles Oates and Dale Walker purchased the building in 1958.
The store’s location was also the only building to survive the 1906 historical downtown Russellville fire.
We will take a trip down memory lane Friday and celebrate with giveaways, a cookout, celebratory cake, photographs, live music and much more.
Mayor Randy Horton will present the store with a proclamation and the Russellville Chamber of Commerce Red Coats will accompany with a ribbon cutting.
Posey Hill, an Americana-bluegrass, old time, contemporary acoustic band will provide our customer’s and guest’s entertainment.
We will also have commemorative C&D Drug Store memorabilia on hand.
We are excited to have you join us as we celebrate this monumental milestone.
